Production Planning Manager
THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly strategic and results-oriented Planning Manager to drive significant improvements in production scaling, customer on-time delivery, and operational efficiency through advanced planning and resource optimization. This pivotal role will lead the development and execution of planning strategies that directly contribute to our long-term business objectives and mitigate operational risks.
Production & Capacity Planning
- Proactively analyze production data and market trends to anticipate future demand and capacity needs, making strategic recommendations and planning for resource allocation and process enhancements for multiple product lines.
- Monitor production performance and adjust planning strategies to ensure SLAs are met.
Workforce & Equipment Planning
- Forecast and allocate workforce needs across shifts and locations, optimizing productivity and minimizing idle time.
- Plan and track utilization of machines, editing stations, and software licenses to support production capacity.
- Propose investment or reallocation of equipment to meet business demand.
Vendor Management
- Source, evaluate, and onboard, offboard vendors based on quality, cost, and turnaround time criteria.
- Manage the full vendor lifecycle: onboarding, performance tracking, and offboarding when necessary.
- Lead vendor negotiations and ensure contractual compliance on service quality, delivery, and pricing.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships for long-term collaboration.
Team Management
- Lead and empower a team of 4 planning staff to achieve ambitious production planning targets, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Proactively engage and influence cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Sales, CS, Production) to ensure seamless alignment of planning strategies with business objectives and customer needs
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Define, track, and report on key strategic planning metrics, including but not limited to, utilization rates, cost efficiency, and vendor performance, using these insights to drive actionable improvements.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and digitalization in the planning workflow and principles.
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced production dashboards and analytical tools in collaboration with the data team, ensuring data-driven decision-making across all planning functions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in production planning or operations with proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative, own-it and results-driven environment.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in planning tools, Excel, and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- A structured and data-driven mindset with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP, PMP) is a plus.
- Prior experience in digital production, BPO operations, media editing services, or other high-volume, fast-paced environments is a strong plus
